| Well Ive definitely had a confirmed case of the flu, and to be honest unless you are an infant or more senior then death is not much of a problem. The only places with serious reported deaths in people over the ages of five are Mexico and Mexico is a developing country i think its over hyped. To be honest | |

| Flu is flu, regardless. It'll just adapt to vaccines after a while anyway. If you get it, you get it and there's not much you can really do about it.
Besides, if your immune system is good, you shouldn't need to worry. The cases in this country are recovered.

| I have a bad immune system, but I still dont think its as bad as the news says. I think it COULD become a serious problem if the proper precautions are not taken. I mean, the government is releasing extra flu vaccines, and besides, if you're going to catch it then you're going to catch it. Thats my opinion though. | |

Sorry, my mind just got lost in a blaze of repeated internet abrieviations and memes with that first post. I don't intend to cause offence however it's just ironic that I'm asked to consider a subject matter serious when the person who decides to make comment on it can't be serious in the least bit at all. 8D
All the same, I wouldn't want to be kermit the frog right now. Eeesh.

| What everyone else said, to be honest. As Heero said, it's only been bad in countries with poor healthcare. As Axel said, it's probably going to mutate anyway, so if we get it, we get it. As Manda said, if your immune system is good, you shouldn't need to worry, as Rosencavalier said, well - Er - Yeah. What he said. And what Ajan said. No sweat! You know what the media are like. They blow everything out of proportion to cause panic. | |

Actually, they didn't start it. It is a flu. It isn't something that the Mexican people created. It is something that comes from a virus. It isn't exactly something we can point fingers towards. Most of the reported cases were in Mexico, the thing with that is that they have poor medical facilities. They are a poor nation, economically, I mean. Stories such as this always make headline news. Therefore they seem to get the short end of the stick in these types of situations. It is a sad story, but the main problem with the Swine flu is that the media uses it as a profit. That is why they make such big deals out of things like that. It keeps people coming back for more, and when they keep coming back, the media gains more influence. Honestly, it is playing on our need for survival. We all go out and pay to have a flu shot because we have an innate desire to live. If anything it is a money racket. That is my opinion though. Still with things like that if you have a healthy immune system, you should be good to go. It is mostly the elderly and infants that they worry about with things like this.

| to be honest i dont think its as bad as people think it is, im yeah people have died but we have worse viruses and diseases spreading aroudn the world. really the people who will suffer more are children, elderly and people who havent got good immune systems.
it truly becomes a problem when nothing is put in place to prevent it. which for swine flu there is, (those of you who are in england may have seen the adverts) and genrally keeping clean and sneezing and coughing into a clean tissue, washing ur hands ect goes along way and can prevent the spread of disease.
so no i dont think it will become a problem since there are guidlines out there if you dont know what to do.
