I will be going to live on a college campus within the next few months. There is one thing that concerns me, though. There are sororities. I was invited to join one. It seems pretty nice. They work on a lot of community based charities and things. I enjoy getting involved with things like this. We would visit a local orphanage at Christmas and give out gifts, etc.
However, a lot of sororities have bad reputations. So, I am curious. Should I join a sorority or not?

Well my experience with sororities is that they are easy ways to make friends but often seem a lot more community minded than they actually are; keep in mind that this is college and so people with the best intentions can easily get really drunk and vomit all over you. Every night.
I guess it all comes down to if you can live in a house with like 10 or 20 other girls and if you actually want to.
It's not for me but then again I am a very bitter and grumpy little girl.

No. They are simply a way of attention whoring and a way for more insecure idiots to 1up the weaker willed people. You would be better off joining a religious cult.

You need to be aware that on May 7th starting at 10AM your website will be offline. Our Datacenter has alerted us to a power condition that could cause unexpected problems with our infrastructure and they must take down a large number of our servers in order to relocate them to a new part of the Datacenter.
We have told this downtime should not last longer then 1 …
